Ascocentrum garayi Christenson

Moderately robust epiphyte. Stem to 25 cm long. Leaves strap-shaped, to 30 cm long, to 2 cm wide, straight, channelled, tip notched. Inflorescences to 25 cm long, erect. Flowers to 1.5 cm wide, golden-yellow or orange; spring to summer. Sepals and petals obovate to oblong. Labellum obscurely 3-lobed, with a rounded, concave midlobe, rounded side lobes. Spur not inflated at tip.

Thailand, Indochina.

This species has been mistaken for A. miniatum (Lindl.) Schltr. in cultivation, but the latter has curved leaves, flat labellum midlobe with a slightly notched tip and pointed labellum side lobes.
