Aeranthes grandiflora Lindl.

Medium sized epiphyte. Stem to 10 cm long. Leaves strap-shaped, to 30 cm long, to 4 cm wide, leathery, margins often undulate. Inflorescences to 30 cm long. Flowers usually 1 or 2, to 10 cm wide, white or greenish-white; summer to winter. Sepals and petals ovate with long-pointed tip. Labellum obovate, bristly, long-pointed.

A. ramosa Rolfe from Madagascar is similar to A. grandiflora but is slightly smaller is all respects and has olive-green flowers and a thin pendent inflorescence.
