Bomarea multiflora (L.f.) Mirb.

Climbing herb with elongated rhizomes. Stems to 4 m, annual, fine-hairy. Leaves oblong. Flowers 20-40, narrowly bell-shaped, 2.5 cm long. Tepals more or less equal. Outer tepals reddish, inner tepals reddish-yellow spotted with brown markings; summer. Sometimes grown in gardens in full sun to semi-shade.

B. acutifolia (Link & Otto) Herb. from Mexico is a climbing herb with elongated rhizomes. Stems to 4 m, annual. Leaves lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, fine hairy on underside veins. Umbel branched, Flowers 10-20, narrowly bell-shaped, 2.5-4 cm long; summer. Tepals more or less equal. Outer tepals orange-red, inner tepals yellow spotted with dark markings.

B. caldasii (HBK) Asch. & Gräbn. from the Andes in Colombia and Ecuador is a climbing herb with elongated rhizomes. Stems to 4 m, annual. Leaves lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, smooth to fine hairy on underside veins. Umbel simple, Flowers 5-40, narrowly bell-shaped, 2.5-3.5 cm long.Tepal whorls unequal, inner longer. Outer tepals yellow-orange or red-brown, inner tepals yellow to orange, sometimes spotted with dark markings; summer.
