Citrus japonica Thunb.

Kumquat

Densely branched, spiny shrub. Leaves elliptic, to 8 cm. Fruit deep orange, to about 3 cm wide, 5-6-chambered and with a sweet rind. [Fortunella japonica (Thunb.) Swingle]

 

Citrus margarita Lour. 'Nagami', Oval or Nagami Kumquat, is also sometimes available. [Fortunella margarita (Lour.) Swingle]
