Tagetes lucida Cav.

Sweet Mace

Perennial herb to 80 cm tall, glabrous. Stems ribbed, branched. Leaves lanceolate, to 10 cm long, glandular, margins toothed, sessile. Capitula many, to 1 cm across; late summer. Ray florets yellow. Achenes 6-7 mm long, glabrous. Pappus of 2 or 3 blunt scales, and 2 longer, bristle-like scales.
