Rudbeckia laciniata L.

Perennial herb to 3 m tall, glabrous, glaucous. Stems branched. Leaves deeply divided, to 10 cm long. Capitula radiate, solitary, to 14 cm across; summer to autumn. Ray florets yellow. Disk florets yellowish or greenish. Pappus a short, toothed crown.

R. subtomentosa Pursh, Sweet Cornflower, from central USA is a branched perennial herb with leaves often divided into 3s, capitula to 8 cm across, yellow ray florets and purplish brown disk florets.
