Drumsticks

Perennial herb to 1 m tall, white- to grey-hairy. Stems erect, unbranched. Basal leaves few, narrow, to 30 cm long. Stem leaves narrow, to 30 cm long, to 12 mm wide. Compound heads spherical, solitary, 15-35 mm across; early spring to summer. Capitula 70-200. Florets 3-6, yellow. Achenes 1.5-3 mm long. [Craspedia globosa (Benth.) Benth.]

P. chrysanthus (Schltdl.) Sond., Golden Billy-buttons, from eastern Australia is an annual herb to 60 cm tall with solitary golden yellow compound heads to 15 mm across [Craspedia chrysantha (Schltdl.) Benth.]; and

P. pleiocephalus (F.Muell.) J. Everett & Doust, Soft Billy-buttons, from E Australia is an annual herb to 40 cm tall with 1-6 lemon yellow compound heads to 15 mm across. [Craspedia pleiocephala F.Muell.]
