Perennial herb to 20 cm tall, white-woolly. Stems erect, little-branched. Leaves linear, to 10 cm long, to 2.5 mm wide,margins entire, curved under, sessile. Capitula solitary, to 3 cm across; mostly spring. Florets yellow. Achenes 4-angled, 0.5-1.3 mm long, minutely warty. Pappus bristles white. [Helichrysum baxteri DC.]
