Centratherum punctatum subsp. punctatum

Annual herb to 1 m tall, woody at base. Stems sprawling to erect, branched. Leaves elliptic to obovate, to 6 cm long, to 2 cm wide, gland-dotted, margins toothed, glabrous to sparsely hairy, petiolate. Capitula to 2 cm across; summer to autumn. Florets mauve to purple. Achenes 2-2.5 mm long. Pappus early deciduous.

C. punctatum Cass. subsp. australianum Kirkman is possibly native to Queensland. It differs from the type subspecies in having leaves with fewer teeth or lobes, and smaller capitula.
