True Daisy

Perennial herb to 15 cm tall, stoloniferous. Stems scape-like. Leaves basal, obovate to spathulate, to 6 cm long, almost entire to toothed, hairy at least when young, longpetiolate. Capitula to about 5 cm across, long-stalked; spring to summer. Involucral bracts oblong, hairy. Ray florets white or pinkish, often purplish below. Achenes hairy. Pappus absent.

Much of Europe

Commonly grown as a border plant or in flower gardens and available in a range of single, double and contorted white to pink and red flowers and variegated leaves.
