Arnica montana L.

Rosetted herb to 70 cm tall, hairy. Stems erect, unbranched or slightly branched. Basal leaves many, oblong, to 13 cm long, sessile. Stem leaves few and smaller. Capitula solitary or few together, 5-8 cm across; summer. Florets yellow-orange. Achenes ribbed, hairy. Pappus white.
