Dipelta floribunda Maxim.

Shrubs 3-4 m tall. Leaves oval to lanceolate, long-tipped, entire or sometimes sawtoothed. Flower clusters terminal and axillary; spring to summer. Flowers funnelshaped, white, suffused with pink, throat yellow. Bracts 4, unequal, to 2 cm long, greenish white.

D. yunnanensis Franch from Yunnan is occasionally available; it has stems that are square in section, leaves that are downy below and flowers with orange-mottled throats.
