Woody climbing or scrambling shrub. Leaves ovate to elliptic, 3-7 cm long, 1-3 cm wide, long-pointed, with 1-4 axillary domatia usually present on the lower surface. Flower clusters forming terminal 5-20-flowered heads. Flowers bisexual, tube 2-6 mm, white to purple; spring to summer. Fruit irregular to round, about 1 cm wide, orange.
