Soft-hairy herb to 20 cm tall. Leaves mostly basal, linear to oblanceolate, mostly 5-9 cm long, 0.5 cm wide, thick; margins toothed or entire. Flowers yellow, sometimes tinged with purple, about 1 cm long, eared, held on slightly zig-zag stalks; spring to summer.
