Evergreen shrub to 3 m or more tall. Leaves ovate-elliptic, to 20 cm long and with prominent veins. Flower spikes axillary or terminal. Flowers to about 3 cm long, white, the lower lip with reddish purple veins; summer. [Adhatoda vasica (L.) Nees]
