Lesser Catmint

Aromatic perennial herb to over 0.5 m tall. Leaves oblong, to 2 cm long, entire or with a few shallow teeth, grey-green, softly hairy. Flower clusters of whorls of flowers. Flowers mauve, corolla about 12 mm long; summer.

C. sylvatica Bromf., Common Calamint, from C and S Europe is less frequently grown and

C. nepeta subsp. glandulosa (Req.) P.W. Ball from S and C Europe is a suburban weed in SA. [C. officinalis Moench]
