Shrub to 3 m tall. Leaves lanceolate, mostly entire, appearing like those of Origanum. Flower clusters branched and terminated with many heads of flowers. Flowers with calyx teeth long and narrow, longer than the white corolla.
Canary Islands
B. canariensis (L.) L'Hér., also from the Canary Islands, is occasionally offered; it is a shrub to 2.5 m tall with round-toothed margins.
