Solanum seaforthianum Andrews

Brazilian Nightshade

Scrambling shrub or climber without prickles. Leaves to 10 cm long, 6 cm wide, deeply divided and with a stalk to 4 cm long. Flower clusters with 10-50 flowers, mostly spring and autumn. Flowers 2-3 cm wide, violet-blue. Fruit a bright red berry about 1 cm wide containing hairy seeds.

W Indies

Naturalised in moist sites of Qld and NSW.
