Perennial herb to 50 cm high. Leaf blade ovate to more or less orbicular, 15-60 mm long,14-45 mm wide; tip acute, base cuneate to rounded. Flowers 20-28 mm long, 30-40 mm wide; calyx lobes 7-17 mm long; corolla lilac-blue to white. Fruit tapering to each end, 35-40 mm long.

Naturalised in most states, mostly near habitations.
