Scandent climber. Leaf blade elliptic to narrow-elliptic, 4-8 cm long, 2-4.5 cm wide, glossy green above, pale green below; tip acute to long-pointed; base cuneate to rounded. Flowers 2-2.5 cm wide, strongly scented; calyx 5-6 mm long; corolla white, lobes puberulent in throat. [Rhynchospermum jasminoides Lindl.]

T. asiaticum (Siebold &Zucc.) Nakai. from Japan and Korea is a scandent climber. Leaf blade elliptic, narrow-elliptic or oblanceolate, 3-8 cm long, 1.5-3 cm wide, glossy green above, pale green below; tip acute; base cuneate. Flowers 2-2.5 cm wide, strongly scented; calyx 3-4 mm long; corolla white, lobes glabrous in throat. 'Variegatum' has leaves variegated in green and white.
