Tetratheca ciliata Lindl.

Shrub to 1 m tall. Leaves alternate, opposite or in whorls of 3-5, narrowly elliptic to almost round, to 2 cm long,1.5 cm wide. Flowers solitary (rarely 2-3), petals 0.5-1.8 cm long, deep lilac-pink, white or mauve, flower stalks and sepals with glandular hairs; spring. Ovary with a soft hair cover. Fruit obovoid, 4-8 mm long.

Available in a range of colour forms from white to shades of pink and mauve.

T. bauerifolia Schuchardt from NSW and Vic is a compact hairy shrub to 30 cm tall, leaves mostly in whorls of 4-6, flowers solitary or occasionally paired, the petals deep lilac-pink

T. thymifolia Sm., Black-eyed Susan, from Qld, NSW and Vic is a straggling shrub to 1 m tall with forward-pointing hair, leaves mostly in whorls of 3-5, flowers deep lilac-pink; year round but mostly in spring. 'Bicentennial Belle', a compact floriferous form with large, deep mauve flowers, was registered by Austraflora Nursery in 1985.
