Platytheca galioides Steetz

Small erect shrub to 0.5 m tall. Leaves mostly 8 in a whorl, linear to almost cylindrical, 1-1.65 cm long, 0.5 mm wide. Flowers with petals bluish, about 1 cm long and with a minute point; late winter to spring. Stamens purplish. Fruit capsule ellipsoid, about 5 mm long. Syn. P. verticillata (Huegel) Baill.
