Macaranga tanarius (L.) Müll.Arg.

Shrub or small tree to 10 m high, male and female flowers on the same plant. Leaves alternate, stalked; leaf stalks 4-38 cm long; blade peltately attached, ovate, 7-42 cm long, 5.5-37.5 cm wide; tip long-pointed to acute; base rounded to cordate; margins entire or toothed; lower surface gland-dotted. Inflorescences paniculate. Fruits orbicular, 6-13 mm wide, with projections 2-5 mm long.
