Tree to 35 m high. Leaf blade elliptic to lanceolate-ovate, 5-9 cm long; tip acute to obtuse; base wedge-shaped; upper surface glossy green, lower surface matt pale green; lateral veins 4 or 5 per side of midrib. Fruit 10-14-lobed.

G. philippicum (Cav.) C.B. Rob. from Australia and Malesia is a tree to 20 m high. Leaf blade lanceolate-ovate to ovate, 5-12 cm long; tip acute to long-pointed; base wedge-shaped to obtuse; upper surface glossy green, lower surface matt pale green; lateral veins 11-13 per side of midrib. Fruit 12-15-lobed.

G. sumatranum Miq., Umbrella Cheese Tree, from Qld, NSWand Malesia is a tree to 15 m high. Leaf blade elliptic, lanceolate-ovate or oblanceolate, 7-12 cm long; tip acute to long-pointed; base wedge-shaped to rounded; upper surface glossy green, lower surface matt pale green; lateral veins 8 or 9 per side of midrib. Fruit 10-lobed. Syn. G. perakense Hook. f. var. supra-axillare (Benth.) Airy Shaw.
