Erect rhizomatous perennial herb to over 1 m tall. Leaves more or less lanceolate, 3-8 cm long. Flowers with petals about 1.5 cm long, white or purplish pink. Fruit about 0.5-1 cm long.

Grows naturally along riverbanks and in swamps.

SA, NSW, Vic, Tas, New Zealand.
