Tree, generally buttressed, with pink new growth. Leaves ovate to lanceolate, 3-7 cm long,1-3 cm wide, tip long-pointed, intramarginal vein and oil glands distinct. Flower clusters compact, terminal; spring. Flowers 5-parted with stamens 3-6 mm long. Fruit more or less pear-shaped, 9-12 mm long, 6-10 mm wide, pink to red.
The cultivars 'Petite Blush', 'Royal Flame' and 'Sophie' are listed.
