Erect shrub to 3 m tall with papery bark on old stems. Leaves alternate, terete or slightly flattened, 1.5-4 cm long, 1 mm wide, tip acute, recurved at the point; stalk absent or extremely short. Flower clusters dense, stalked; late winter and spring. Flowers white to yellow. Stamens 4-8 per bundle, base 2 mm long. Fruit capsules about 3 mm wide.
