Chenille Honey-myrtle

Shrub or small tree mostly to 3 m tall but sometimes much higher. Leaves alternate, crowded, ovate, 3-10 mm long, 3-4 mm wide, pointed, stalkless. Flower spike dense, bottlebrush-like, 5-10 cm long. Flowers white or pink; spring to early summer. Stamen filaments 7-11 per bundle. Fruit capsule about 4 mm wide with calyx lobes persistent.
