This is a hybrid intermediate in characters between the two parents, L. bullata and L. obcordata (whose major characters are presented in the key). Although the parents are available in their own right, the hybrid is more commonly cultivated and exists in a range of leaf colour and shape cultivars including 'Crinkley', 'Gloriosa', 'Indian Chief', 'Kathryn', 'Lilliput', 'Pixie', 'Pucker Red', 'Purpurea', 'Traversii' and 'Traversii Variegated'.
