Coast Tea-tree

Shrub or tree to 5 m tall. Leaves obovate,1.5-3 cm long, 0.5-1 cm wide, grey-green. Flowers 1.5-2 cm wide, stalkless; spring to early summer. Petals white. Ovary 7-11- chambered. Fruit 6-8 mm wide, mostly soon shed.

L. brevipes F. Muell., Slender Tea-tree, from Qld, NSW and Vic has much narrower leaves only 2-5 mm wide, while L. sericeum Labill, Silver Tea-tree, is distinguished by the silvery new growth and pink flowers, often of different shades on the same bush.
