Eucalyptus woodwardii Maiden

Lemon-flowered Gum

Tree to 15 m tall, often slender, with long, drooping waxy-grey foliage and branches, occasionally mallee-like. Bark grey to pinkish, sometimes peeling at the base of the trunk. Juvenile leaves lanceolate. Adult leaves thick, lanceolate, grey; blade 10-15 cm long, 2-4 cm wide, dull. Leaf stalk mostly 2 cm long. Flowers in 7s; common stalk about 2 cm long, individual stalks mostly 6-7 mm long. Fruits striated, mostly 1-1.5 cm long and wide, waxy-grey.

Grows naturally in sandy woodland soils.

Ornamental waxy-white buds and yellow flowers. Widely grown as an ornamental tree in the NW of the state.
