Mallee to mostly 10 m tall. Bark fibrous below, smooth and grey or pinkish above. Juvenile leaves linear. Adult leaves linear-lanceolate with a hooked tip; blade mostly 6-10 cm long, 0.5-1 cm wide, dark green, glossy. Leaf stalk 0.5-1 cm long. Flowers in 7s, common stalk 4-sided, 5-8 mm long, individual stalks 2-4 mm long. Fruits 2-4 mm long, 3-4 mm wide.
Grows naturally in Bendigo area of Vic (cultivated in school grounds and as a street planting), Flinders Ranges of SA, also Qld and NSW.
