Eucalyptus pulverulenta Sims

Silver-leaved Mountain Gum

Small tree or mallee. Bark smooth throughout, grey or coppery. Juvenile leaves opposite, stalked, stem-clasping, waxy-white, round to ovate and persisting on the mature branches. Adult leaves rarely developed, alternate, lanceolate; blade 5-10 cm long,mostly 1-2 cm wide. Leaf stalk 10-18 mm long. Flowers white, in 3s, common stalk cylindrical, 5-8 mm long, individual stalks absent; Sept-Nov. Fruits 5-9 mm long, 6-10 mm wide.

Grows naturally in montane regions in a few localities in the C and S Tablelands of NSW.

Similar to its close relatives, E. cordata and E. perriniana. The former has larger fruits 10-13 mm long while the latter has a common flower stalk 2-5 mm long.
