Mallee to about 6 m tall. Bark smooth, grey over white. Juvenile leaves alternate, ovate, glossy. Adult leaves alternate, lanceolate, long-pointed, 7-12 cm long, 1-2 cm wide, glossy. Flowers lemon, the common stalk flattened, cap elongated, 2-4 cm long, cylindrical; Dec-Apr. Fruit cup-shaped, 7-8 mm long, 6-8 mm wide with 3-4 valves.
