Eucalyptus kitsoniana Maiden

Gippsland Mallee

Mallee to about 7-8 m tall. Bark pale grey, smooth, occasionally with a rough base. Juvenile leaves opposite, stalkless, more or less round, notched at the tip. Adult leaves lanceolate, blade mostly 13-18 cm long, 2.5 cm wide, green. Leaf stalk flattened, 1-1.5 cm long. Flowers creamy white, in 7s, common stalk flattened to near cylindrical and with no individual flower stalks; Oct-Feb. Fruits mostly wrinkled, 7-8 mm long and wide.

Grows naturally from Portland to Yarram in small stands near water.
