Two-winged Gimlet

Tree or mallee to 5-6 m tall with trunk appearing to spiral. Bark shining brown. Juvenile leaves lanceolate. Adult leaves lanceolate; blade 6-9 cm long, mostly 1-1.5 cm wide, glossy. Leaf stalk 6-12 mm long. Flower buds and fruits in 3s, common stalk absent or short and flattened. Fruits stalkless, 2-winged, 7-10 mm long, 1-1.5 cm wide.

Grows naturally on clay and sometimes salty soils in C S WA. Grown along highways in NW Vic.
