Cap-fruited Mallee

Mallee or small tree to 4 m tall. Bark brown. Adult leaves narrowly lanceolate; blade 6-9 cm long, 1-1.5 cm wide, green, glossy. Leaf stalk angled, mostly 1.5-2 cm long. Flowers in 7s; common stalk curved, cylindrical to angular, 1.5-2.5 cm long, individual stalks mostly 0.5-1 cm long. Fruits mostly 7-10 mm long, 1 cm wide.

Grows naturally in shrubland on clay soil. Planted quite widely in N Vic.

Similar to E. erythronema but leaf stalk longer and flower buds smaller.
