Small to tall tree. Bark peeling or smooth and yellowish to grey. Juvenile leaves stalkless, opposite, broadly lanceolate to elliptic or ovate. Adult leaves stalked, lanceolate, often falcate, to 20 cm long, green. Leaf stalk slightly flattened, mostly 1.5-2.5 cm long. Flowers in 7s, common stalk flattened, mostly 1-2 cm long. Fruits 0.5-1 cm long, often ribbed.
Grows naturally in hilly and montane open forest.
