Silver-topped Gimlet

Tree to mostly 10 m tall. Trunk with unusual spiral banding. Bark smooth, shades of brown. Juvenile leaves broadly lanceolate. Adult leaves lanceolate; blade mostly 8-11 cm long, 1-2 cm wide, waxy-grey. Leaf stalk 1-1.5 cm long. Flowers in 7s, common stalk 0.5-1 cm long, individual stalks 2-4 mm long. Fruits 6-9 mm long, 8-10 mm wide, waxy-grey.

Grows naturally near Kalgoorlie in open woodland.

Cultivated in NW Vic.
