Eucalyptus bancroftii (Maiden) Maiden

Bancroft's Red Gum

Tree to 20 m or more tall. Bark smooth throughout, pinkish orange to grey and brown. Juvenile leaves ovate. Adult leaves lanceolate, thick; blade mostly 8-20 cm long, 1.5-4 cm wide, green. Leaf stalk mostly 1.5-2.5 cm long. Flowers in 7s, common stalk 0.5-2 cm long, individual stalks 2-5 mm long. Ffruits 5-9 mm long and wide.

Grows naturally in S Qld and N NSW, mostly on tablelands and in open forest; the tablelands form has exceptionally glaucous stems and buds.
