Shrub or small tree to 3 m tall with branches slightly weeping and flexuous on mature plants. Leaves narrowly oblanceolate, 3-5 cm long, 2-5 mm wide, often slightly sickle-shaped, pointed, oil glands usually obscure. Flower spike usually 3-5 cm long, 2-2.5 wide, open, and often with leafy bracts in the upper part. Filaments 7-9 mm long, cream to pale yellow, rarely pink, anthers bright yellow. Fruit cupshaped, 3-5 mm long. Syn. C. paludosus of some authors.
