Small tree or tall shrub. Leaves 3-7 cm long, 1-2.5 cm wide, ovate to lanceolate, dark green, shiny with large oil glands. Flower clusters terminal or in upper leaf axils. Flowers white 1.5-2 cm wide; early summer. Sepals yellow-green. Petals soon shed.
