Shrub to over 1 m tall with hairless new growth. Leaves opposite, narrowly elliptic, 1-3 cm long, to 0.5 cm wide, bent back at the tip. Flower clusters with 4 bracts, mostly 2-4 cm wide. Flowers pale pink to purple; spring to early summer.
