Protea eximia (Knight) Fourc.

Shrub or small tree to 5 m tall with a single stem. Leaves 6-10 cm long, 3-6 cm wide, ovate to oblong, cordate or 'eared' at the base, leathery, sometimes tinged purple. Flower cluster 10-14 cm long, 8-12 cm wide; spring to summer. Bracts clearly differentiated into a narrowly spoon-shaped inner series and a broad outer series, pink to red.
