Erect shrub to about 3 m tall with a single stem. Leaves 5-12 cm long, 2-5 cm wide, oblong to elliptic, leathery, stalkless; margins hard. Flower cluster 8-11 cm long, 7-10 cm wide. Bracts bright pink, occasionally white, with hairy margins; spring to summer.
