Shrub to 2 m tall. Leaves to about 4 cm long, stiff, deeply 3-lobed with sharp points, these lobes often further divided. Flower clusters ovoid, axillary, each to about 8 mm long and crowded towards the tip of the branchlets. Flowers to 2 cm or so long, greyish to pink; winter to spring. Fruiting cones ovoid,1-1.5 cm long.
