Red Pokers

Shrub or small tree to 5 m or so tall. Leaves linear, mostly 10-20 cm long, 2 mm wide, flat, pointed. Flower clusters axillary, erect, often several together, spike-like, to 12 cm or so long. Flowers orange, the segments bent back. Style red. Fruit about 2 cm long with a thick beak.

May be grafted on H. salicifolia.
