Tree to 10 m or more tall with furrowed bark. Leaves entire, to about 40 cm long,1.5 cm wide, leathery, linear, wavy-edged, strap-like, indistinctly striated. Flower clusters mostly erect, branched, cylindrical. Flowers and style green at first, becoming cream, hairless outside, slightly hairy inside; late spring to summer. Fruit slightly rough, flattened.
