Shrub to 2 m tall. Leaves entire, generally in 3s,mostly elliptic to oblanceolate, to about 8 cm long, 1 cm wide, margins rolled under, lower surface hairy. Flower clusters hanging, 1-sided. Flowers pink, rarely white, mauve or red, hairy outside, bearded inside; year round, mostly spring. Style same colour as flower. Fruit hairless.
Pink, mauve and white forms are sold.
