Spreading, sometimes suckering shrub to 2 m tall. Leaves entire, linear to narrowly elliptic, to 6 cm long and about 1 cm wide; margins mostly rolled under, hairy below. Flower clusters sometimes branched, with up to about 15 flowers. Flowers reddish, often green or yellow towards the base, hairy outside and bearded inside; spring or summer. Style reddish. Fruit hairy, without stripes or blotches.
